Whither the lords of elfland gone?
And whither their glory, now left in stone?

Once verdant field now blackened fen,
And forgotten all that was back then.

Where now the spires that caressed the sky,
In elder days, in brighter time?

Those silver voices, a lost refrain,
That echo not in hall or plain.

Gone the wisdom, the ancient art,
That raised men's souls, enflamed their hearts.

Now forests mourn, dark rivers weep,
For secrets lost in dreamless sleep.

No more the forge’s fiery glow,
With heat from spells that ebb and flow.

Only ruins now, 'neath stars' cold light,
Still whisper tales of man’s lost might.

In dream alone, doth mem’ry stir,
Of days when men called elf “brother.”

In twilit wood their echoes call,
In lands where shadow deep doth fall.

So fades the age of myth and lore,
From mind of man, from shore to shore.

Yet in the hearts of those who yearn,
The fires of elder days still burn.

- “Whither The Lords of Elfland,” Connwyn Skald, 346.

Tarvannion is a 30 page system agnostic toolkit for your old school fantasy ttrpg.

Hand drawn and assembled totally analog, Tarvannion’s unique look was achieved with pencils, pens, ink stamps, typewriter, scissors, and glue sticks - like a gazetteer your DM might have brought to the table in the 80’s.

Included within are solo or group tools for a “high dark” fantasy setting including:

• Simple/streamlined hexcrawling procedures

• Nested d6 tables for everything from points of interest to regional events, encounters, found items and more!

• Regional, city and area maps including one mini dungeon and scenario featuring the sadistic Redcap, who wears a cloak of human hair and a mask of human skin!

• d6 generators for ruins, dungeons, and settlements

• A “legends and lore” table that turns in-game lore into simple snippets that come with distinct mechanical advantages. Learning about the game world and it’s history comes in the form of story prompts/hints and allows characters to use them for bonuses or advantages connected to the legend itself.

• Worldbuilding brief overview and notes throughout that connect to the regional map while allowing you the freedom of looting what you like and pitching the rest.

Thinking of using this for a campaign but it's a bit hard to read, any hope of an ashcan version?

This is great, but so is all of your work! Quick question, I'd like to have this printed, but the file is too large to upload. Is there anyway to get a smaller file? The version of Kal Arath I had printed, came out beautifully. I'd like to add this one to the collection! 🙂

Fantastic work. It definitely has a Moorcock meets Tolkien vibe. I really enjoy the ink only art style. It makes for a really clean look.

Thank you I appreciate that a lot! Definitely like Melnibonéan elves in an early age of Middle Earth human world etc.

I really like it and if I had any complaint is that I'd love to print it out and the scans are a little skewed, or it seems that way to me.  I could just be imagining it and plan to print it out anyway.  It sounds like you're doing some updates to it, is that true?  If so I'll wait before I print it out.

the updates will be separate files. A map and a few dungeons. Working on an article on my Substack for d6 domain and faction play also.
